Winter Thaw

It’s a bit of a misnomer to call this a January thaw since we’ve hardly had a normal winter thus far. We did get several inches of snow over the weekend, but just enough to create some work and cause a mushy mess this week as the temperatures started to creep well above freezing. Not that I’m complaining, mind you!  After last night’s dense fog (and my headache) burned off, the sun is (finally) shining and it’s just amazing what a little sunshine will do to lift your mood. So here’s to getting outside and soaking up a few of those warm rays!

  1. This is a beautiful light-capture (and shadow-capture, for that matter), Cheryl. Lovely. So much of what many of us do today has little, if anything, to do with nature. This picture is a very nice way to begin the day…

    • Thanks Marc! I’ve been groping to find anything to shoot lately. I do love foggy mornings (and we’ve had quite a few this winter), but the general landscape is looking pretty drab right about now. So I tipped my camera up a bit more than normal and this was the result! I love the changing light and atmospheric conditions, but they can be tricky to catch! Two minutes later a gentle breeze picked up, blew the fog off and my photo op vanished in the blink of an eye!
