Just another rambling fool at WordPress.com

New Blooms

Having been either too windy or too rainy, our weather thus far has prevented a good deal of spring picture-taking.  However, today was one of those rare dry, windless mornings that looked to be a bit more promising. I trudged through ankle-deep mud as I fed the horses all the while hoping the rain and wind would hold off long enough for me to grab my camera and tripod and take a few pictures. I know flowers bore some people to death, but they tend to be great practice subjects. At this point it’s been so long since I’ve been able to get out and shoot something that I’ll take whatever subjects I can get!

On another note, thinking of my father and missing him on this day, his birthday.

  1. These are beautiful. I always love close ups of flowers because there’s a whole different world in there than the one you see from a distance.

    • I have to say that I agree with you! I was never all that ga-ga about flower pictures until I started taking them myself. Flowers can be such good subjects to learn the finer nuances about photography and when I started using macro equipment it opened up a whole ‘nuther world! Now I really enjoy looking at all sorts of flower pictures and I can certainly appreciate how much harder it is to get a great shot than I used to think it was!

Thanks for the kind words … and I LOVE your blog …. it often makes my day!
