Big Red

My big red handsome boy on a foggy fall morning.

  1. A great shot. The bokeh falling off just behind the grassy platform is a very nice dramatic element. I also like a little light peaking from behind Big Red’s head. What lens did you use?

    • Thanks Wayne! I went out to the barn with my Canon 50mm on the camera. No real thought process involved there …. it just happened to be what I used the day before. Being lazy, I didn’t bother to swap it out for something different. The light didn’t start to get interesting until I was almost ready to come in. I hate to say this, but the background wasn’t all that planned. I wish I could take credit for it, but I can’t. I simply positioned my dog where I thought the light would look best coming from behind him, and let fly. I was pretty happy when I took a look at what I got! Sometimes I luck out like that! 🙂 Thanks for the comments!

    • I think the reds are a bit more photogenic myself, but I may be biased. I think their expressions show up more than the blues, especially the masked blues. I find most of Neena’s pictures look the same, while Hazer’s seem to show a lot more expression and variety. Oddly, in real life I think Neena has a very expressive face (quite “smiley”) while his is a bit more passive. Go figure!

      Thanks for dropping by!
